Rooted in Rhythm: How Gudrun Feigl Grew a Life of Purpose One Herb at a Time

Some lives are carefully mapped out. Others are grown.

This week on HarmonyTALK, Gudrun Feigl shares a story that feels less like a straight line and more like a garden. One that has been tended slowly, season by season, with patience, curiosity, and care.

Gudrun grew up in Germany’s Black Forest, where her earliest memories are filled with scent and imagination. Barefoot in a garden, gathering flowers, pretending to create something meaningful long before she knew what it would become. Years later, those same scents would guide her back to something essential.

Her path to Northeastern Pennsylvania was not driven by business ambition. It began with social work, a work exchange program, and a relocation that felt far from home. When she arrived, the landscape around her felt unfamiliar and at times uncertain. But slowly, something shifted.

She began growing her own herbs and blending her own teas for a little taste of home. And then she decided to share them with her new community.

What followed was not a sudden leap into entrepreneurship, but a gradual unfolding. A table with three products. A suggestion from a friend. A willingness to try. Over time, that table expanded into a shop, a workshop space, and a gathering place for creativity and connection.

Today, Gudrun grows her herbs on a small plot of land, created in small batches, and invites others into the experience of making. Her work is not about scale. It is about intention.

This is a story about trusting small beginnings. About building something meaningful without rushing the process. About finding joy not just in the outcome, but in the act of creating itself.

And perhaps most importantly, it is a story about remembering.

Remembering what first sparked your curiosity.

Remembering what brings you back to yourself.

And allowing that to guide what you build next.
